ANTI-PROCRASTINATION

Everyone goes against procrastination at some point of the day, even the most productive people do, and it happens to us every day, most the time you aren't able to do any productive you wanna do, just cause your too lazy and too tired to do those things, and think that you can just do them tomorrow, well, that's called procrastination. Its the action of delaying or postponing something.

In this article, ill tell you how you can avoid and stop procrastination. and show you how to use them! And the best way to stop procrastinating is to have urgency with your Objectives.


1. Giving More urgency:


Providing more urgency to you're activities, will make you in more of a hurry to finish them and get to doing them.and here is how you can get more urgency to your tasks:

  • Always have greater demand on your time than your supply

  • Adding more things to do, more tasks to finish, will increase your urgency, which will make you try and do stuff faster. 

Note: don't add too many things or you will panic and get confused about what to do.

  • Using PARKINSONS LAW, Create miniature deadlines to your tasks to also increase your urgency, this will make you accountable to something(your deadline) and deadlines always make a procrastinator word harder, better, and faster.

EG: instead of saying "I will do my homework and write my article today," say"I will do my homework at 2 and finish at 3 and write your article from 6 to 7:30"

Note: Don't overwhelm urself make your deadlines too intense like giving urself 10mins to do a task while it needs 30, give an approximate deadline to what you think that task needs.

  • Set bigger and more important tasks, when you recognize how much more work you gotta do to accomplish them, you will easily be able to complete the tasks at hand.

Note: again don't overwhelm urself, Have big tasks, but reasonable ones, don't make them so big that you'll feel its too much work and too hard. Therefore it will make you quit, instead have high goals, but reasonable ones.

  • Create consequences in case you don't do something, this will make your brain recognize that you need to do that task without delaying it, it will also give you alot of accountability if you ask someone to testify on your consequence in case of your failure to stick to the task.

EG: ask your brother or any1 to take your phone for an hour in case you don't read anything today, or in case you use Facebook for more than an hour.

  • Use accountability, having someone come check on you from time to time or an app (like rescue time app that tells you what your spending your time on). You feel like your being watched, so you will in return feel more accountable to finish your job. (you won't be watching youtube instead of doing your work while knowing someone is gonna check on you or that Rescue time will collect data and tell you later that your playing instead of working).

2. HOW TO USE THESE METHODS:


  1. Get very clear on the exact tasks you wanna do, decide on the thing you should be doing and get as specific as you can, so you don't get confused about your options on what to do later on.

  2. After you decide on what, decide on WHEN. Make a specific date and time for your task, so say, "ill work out between this time and this time than ill take this time for a break. "Than between this time and this time to do homework", confusion is an opportunity for procrastination.

  3. Write down your activity and when your gonna do it,(wether on pc/phone or a notebook),

  4. Simply by writing stuff down your probably more likely to do the task, it will work as a trigger in your environment.

  5. Increase your URGENCY with all the ways mentioned before, and go easy on yourself!

PARKINSONS LAW: 

    if you know something can be completed in a day don't give urself 2 days to finish it, u might think that giving urself extra time will give u better results, however, it's a fact that most of that time is wasted on unimportant things and the end result of shorter deadline is actually better, cuz u have greater focus.

           but be reasonable with the deadlines give each task its necessary time, not more and not less, however, TRY TO PUSH YOUR LIMITS!

   Any deadline>>>>>>> No deadline

no matter what ur deadline is its alot better than having no deadline.
